Potential lineups options for UNC basketball this season

The UNC basketball program in 2022 will be the No. 1 team in the nation by multiple national predictions. This is a fresh performance, runner-up in the national championship, and the return of four players in the starting line-up – R. J. Davis, Caleb Love, holey black as well as Armando Bakot – and two of its key members from last year – Puff Johnson as well as Dontrez Styles.

Tar Heels also add a solid recruiting class and provide transfers from the Northwest. Pete Nancy – is looking for a replacement for the role of Brady Manek.

Overall, North Carolina should be a deeper team this season, and by all accounts, Hubert Davis wants them to be that way. Whether it’s in the back, flanking or front, there seem to be additional elements that weren’t in the squad a season ago.

There should be no discussion about this. The Tar Heels brought back four starters from last year and brought in North West’s Pete Nance, who averaged 14.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game last season.

This is an interesting potential lineup that Tar Heels has to offer. You have shots from the back and flank with Puff Johnson. Nancy can also stretch the floor. However, you are missing a protective plug in the paint.

While Trimble isn’t a terrific shooter, having another player who can dribble and open the lane for drive and hitting opportunities makes it difficult for the defense to stop this lineup. Nance is also a 35.6 percent three-point shooter.

I like both R.J. Davis and Caleb Love, but when Love locks up, he plays the ball very well. When Trimble is not in possession of the ball, you have an amazing backcourt with this duo. Styles is needed for switching opportunities and his ability to influence the game at the level of the weak side.

This is one filled with athletes, length and athleticism. You have three players in Johnson, Styles and Black who can swap anything on defense. You have the athleticism to take a break. It may not be too much to see the floor, but sometimes it can be fun to give Bacot a few extra minutes of rest.

It can go either way. I think you can see both Johnson and Nance in this squad, depending on the opponent. But I think Johnson provides extra play and versatility on the ball. The most important thing with him will be his consistent defensive ability. I don’t think you can go wrong with either, here.
