A few months after perhaps the most surprising winner of the Kentucky Derby, the favorite took the win in the Belmont Stakes.

Mo Donegal, who entered the race as a 5-2 favorite, took the lead to win the 2022 Belmont Stakes. It was a 1-2 victory for owner Mike Repaul and trainer Todd Pletcher as their filly Nest also took the spot. Skippy Longstocking finished third on the podium.

We humans entered the race 7-2 and held the lead for the first mile or so, but eventually gave way to fourth.

The biggest disappointment was the unlikely Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike, who entered the race 4-1. Having skipped the Preakness Stakes to focus on Belmont, the horse looked flustered as he walked to the starting gate and ended up spending most of the race in last place.

Rich Strike was in the same position during the Derby, but there was clearly no magic involved. As a result, the horse finished sixth out of eight.
