Still on the rise after winning the first Super Bowl of her career, Jalen Ramsey is also cleaning up her body a bit. The All-Pro cornerback is using this off-season to return to full health in hopes of helping the Los Angeles Rams fight for a second straight Lombardi Trophy, and that’s apparently due to him going under the knife willingly.
Ramsey reportedly underwent shoulder surgery. NFL networkbut it is expected to be at full capacity before the 2022 season starts in September – it is currently unclear when the procedure occurred – posting an update on its status via Twitter.
“Everything is fine!” said a smiling Ramsey.
A former fifth overall for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Ramsey made his way to Los Angeles in a brilliant 2019 deal and has continued to dominate the field since then. Signing a five-year, $105 million extension in 2020, the three-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler has surpassed all expectations despite his struggles with the aforementioned shoulder ailments in 2021.
He made 16 regular season starts and was on the field in every postseason Rams game until their Super Bowl LVI victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, where he played every snap defensively.
Ramsey threw four interceptions during the regular season, as well as posting a career-best 77 combined tackles, as well as 16 pass deflections (second most in his career), a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. If he can put up numbers like that when he’s not at 100%, opposing quarterbacks shudder at the thought of what he can do now that he’s back in 2022.
