Ranking college football’s 75 best transfers: Who are the best players to enter the portal?

The College Football Portal was open from Dec. 5 to Jan. 18, featuring many top performers, from starting quarterbacks to top rushers to top invaders.

For the second year in a row, more than 3000 players enter the portal. Last year, there were quarterbacks like Caleb Williams and Beau Nicks, forwards like Jordan Addison and Jameer Gibbs, forwards like O’Cyrus Torrens and Olusegun Oluwatimi, and defensemen like Drew Sanders and Layatu Latu.

There were also many key names on the portal this time around, from former five-star recruits like Travis Hunter and Jordan Burch to starting quarterbacks like DJ Uiagalelei and Spencer Sanders to playmakers like Dasan McCullough and Adonai Mitchell.

Who are the biggest names that will enter the portal this year? Which players on the portal will stand out in 2023? We rank the top players on the portal this cycle based on past accomplishments, interest in major programs, and potential to contribute to a new team. Ratings will be adjusted as new players enter their names on the portal and as new players become available.

Last update: Tuesday at 6:45 pm ET Jaheim Singletary leaves for Arkansas. In total, there are 75 players in our rating.
