The Baltimore Ravens will rely on many young members who will be able to take the position of a wide receiver after the Marchioness Brown trade. One such player is Rashod Bateman, who is starting his second season in the NFL after a good rookie year.

After one of the mandatory mini-camp workouts in Baltimore, Ravens tight end Mark Andrews was asked about what he saw outside of Bateman’s route. The tight end discussed how great the lat works, mentioning its burst of speed as well as how it opens up in lane.

“He lays out great routes. A lot of his releases and all that… He opens the line very, very quickly. And then, he has an explosion of speed that people don’t really talk about. And again, [in his] second year – he’s a guy who’s going to get better and better and better. The sky is the limit for him.

Bateman is now the undisputed wide receiver on Baltimore’s offense, so he will play a much bigger role than he did in his first year. Andrews will be there to take some of the pressure off him in terms of catching passes, but the former University of Minnesota star will be heavily leaning on quarterback Lamar Jackson.
