Ratings Real Madrid
Name | minutes | How did they do it? | Rating |
---|---|---|---|
(GK) Thibault Courtois |

Beautiful display with five saves and a blank slate. There was no mistake that we saw in the first match, because this result was never in doubt. |
8 |
(DEF) Dani Carvajal |
86 |
Made a couple of clearances, blocked the shot, bounced back twice and fixed an interception. Almost conceded a goal to Liverpool due to a bad pass. |
7 |
(DEF) Eder Militao |
90 |
He played long balls poorly, but had five clearances in defense. He was good in the air and returned the ball well. |
6 |
(DEF) Antonio Rüdiger |
90 |
I had to give an assist to Vinicius Jr. with his beautiful header. For the most part, Mohamed Salah scored well and was strong in the air. |
6.5 |
(DEF) Nacho |
90 |
Incredibly accurate with the ball at his feet, deftly and with due weight played the transfer. He was also good defensively, winning eight of his 12 ground fights. |
8 |
(MID) Luka Modric |
82 |
Completed 51 of his 53 passes and created a hazard. Does so well to cross the pitches to keep the defense open and barely missed a single ball. |
7.5 |
(MID) Eduardo Camavinga |
90 |
He hit the bar early on with a beautiful shot, but Alisson saved him. His passing was excellent and he also excelled defensively with a very positive performance. |
8 |
(MID) Toni Kroos |
84 |
A typical Kroos performance that had nothing exciting about it. He was just fine and delivered clean passes that any fan of the sport can appreciate. |
7 |
(FWD) Federico Valverde |
90 |
A constant threat in terms of shots, but he was weak in crosses and missed opportunities to set up his teammates. However, he used that trademark first touch to launch the attack on the counter and has always been a nuisance to the Reds. |
6 |
(FWD) Karim Benzema |
82 |
Did his job by scoring the goal, making him even more out of reach than he already was. At the age of 35, he is not going to slow down. |
8 |
(FWD) Vinicius Jr. |
84 |
It was shocking that he didn’t score. However, he got his pass by passing Benzema on the ground, which once again hurt Liverpool. It’s crazy that he’s only 22. |

The result was never in doubt, his players were constantly knocking on the door. You just knew the goal was coming. And defensively, they had more than enough to get into the last eight. He didn’t even have to make changes, but he had the luxury of waiting until the 80th minute to do so. |

(GK) Alisson Becker |
90 |
It was a superb result for the Brazilian who beat Toni Kroos, Vinicius Jr and Eduardo Camavinga several times in the first half and Fede Valverde and Karim Benzema in the second. He kept his end of the deal, but his teammates were turned down further down the field. He couldn’t do anything about Benzema’s goal. |
8 |
(DEF) Trent Alexander Arnold |
90 |
The England international took the lead as often as he could and scored where possible. However, in the second half, he was not allowed to participate as actively as in the first. |
6 |
(DEF) Ibrahim Konate |
90 |
It was a fairly solid result for the Frenchman, although Real Madrid and his compatriot Benzema had enough chances to bury the Reds at night and in a draw. |
6 |
(DEF) Virgil Van Dijk |
90 |
The performance of the Dutch national team was by no means impressive, but was reasonably consistent despite the backline occasionally opening up as Robertson struggled from the left. However, he ended up contributing to Benzema’s goal, which ended the tie. |
5 |
(DEF) Andy Robertson |
90 |
He lost the ball on one of Benzema’s chances and then lost in the air to Valverde as he struggled in the second half. |
4 |
(ONE) Diogo Jota |
57 |
It was not the Portuguese player’s best performance and it was not surprising that he left the game before the hour when Klopp tried to make up for his lack of midfield. |
5 |
(ONE) Fabinho |
90 |
Reliable as always, the Brazilian has changed significantly in the center with Milner, but the midfield needed more creativity than was available. |
6 |
(MID) James Milner (s) |
73 |
The veteran rolled back years with a tenacity that reminded Klopp of the qualities he lacks in his current ranks. |
7 |
(FWD) Mohamed Salah |
90 |
The Egyptian worked hard but lacked the end result, although he played Darwin Nunez in the first 45 minutes which could have been a game-changer. |
6 |
(FWD) Darwin Nunes |
57 |
Retrieved twice by Courtois in the first half, once from a hand-held header and the other from a super-hit that was saved below. He later gave way to Firmino when Klopp decided to change with Salah and Gakpo more productive in their work. |
6 |
(FWD) Cody Gakpo |
90 |
The Dutchman was derailed by Courtois’ Power Shot and several other shots were stopped, including a header. |

Harvey Elliott |
Something (57′) |
He worked hard and was perhaps the most impressive of the substitutes. |
6 |
Roberto Firmino |
Nunez (57′) |
Sent off to try to score a goal, but the outgoing Brazilian struggled to enter the game as Real Madrid exerted their control. |
5 |
Alex Oxlade Chamberlain |
Milner (73′) |
Allowed 17 minutes late as a replacement for the impressive Milner who gave everything. However, he participated in opening the guests for the only goal of the game. |
5 |
Kostas Tsimikas |
Robertson (90′) |
Came out and almost missed a penalty right away |
5 |
Fabio Carvalho |
Steel (90′) |
Given the last few moments of the meeting, this time was barely enough to get the ball. |

The German showed a decent performance from his side, especially in the first half, but it wasn’t enough at night and Real were stronger in the second half as they pulled away. |
