The 24-year-old Pulisic will have just one year left on his Chelsea contract at the end of the 2022/23 season and the American winger will lead Chelsea’s “summer transfer exodus” according to a report.
With 18 players arriving at Chelsea in the last two transfer windows under the new American owner led by Todd Boly, a huge number of players will have to leave to make this sustainable.
Hakim Ziyech, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Kalidou Koulibaly, Romelu Lukaku and Mateo Kovacic are also reportedly set to leave while contract talks continue with Mason Mount and N’Golo Kante, but they could also leave .
Chelsea have no plans to offer Pulisic a new contract, and the USMNT winger was keen to move in January (Manchester United and Newcastle were reportedly interested) before he suffered a knee injury that left him he won’t be able to play until March.
Why is this the end for him at Chelsea?
If he is going to leave, he should go to a place where he will play regularly. Pulisic has never been able to hold onto a starting position at Chelsea despite some impressive spells.
Injuries have been a key reason he has never flourished at Chelsea, but three managers over the past four years have not helped him either.
The USMNT winger can do it at Premier League and Champions League levels, and his time at Chelsea hasn’t been a failure at all. But it wasn’t what anyone was hoping for. Pulisic didn’t become the superstar he expected to be.
What’s next for Pulisic?
Now he needs to find a club where he will be a superstar and a star person, instead of being in a club where he is one of the many superstars.
It’s a difficult jump after having been to Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea throughout his career.
If Manchester United comes after him, should he move there? Probably no. He has to go somewhere, he knows he will play week after week and be V man.
Whether it’s a team vying for a top six finish in the Premier League, or an Italy, Germany or Spain team vying for a title and trophies, he needs to take the next step in his career and become a talisman at his next club.
It was always risky to move to Chelsea when he did, but he won the Champions League and played a key role throughout his time in west London. It didn’t quite work out well. He’s not even close to his prime.
However, this next move must be the right one and should work if he’s really going to be the superstar every USMNT fan hopes for. He may be that star, but know that it’s all about putting yourself in the best position to succeed.
Crystal Palace take on Brighton in a huge rivalry as the M23 derby always feels dramatic.
CRYSTAL PALACE live stream vs BRIGHTON
Patrick Vieira’s Palace is approaching this game with more evidence as they haven’t won their last six games in all competitions and are at risk of being sucked into relegation. Palace are difficult to beat, but scoring a goal has again become a problem for them.
As for Brighton, Roberto De Zerbi has no such concerns as the Seagulls continue to rise and are unbeaten in their last four Premier League games, winning three of them as they sit sixth in the table.

Key storylines and players in good shape to keep an eye on
Young USMNT player Chris Richards has been great since coming to the defense of the Palace and the young centre-back took his chance when Joachim Andersen got injured. Michael Olize continues to deliver quality moments, but Wilfried Zaha hasn’t scored in any of his last eight matches and missed the loss to United with a hamstring problem. Zaha is expected to miss this clash which will be a big blow for the Eagles as he enjoys playing the hero against Brighton.
Brighton have so many players, but Kaoru Mitoma has been in form all his life. The Japanese winger was sensational before the World Cup break, played for Japan during the World Cup and was outstanding after the restart. Last time he scored the winning goal against Bournemouth and now he is Brighton’s main attacking threat with an unbelievable quality attack from the left.
