Report: Kayvon Thibodeaux has hip injury

Giant rookie extreme rusher Kaivon Thibodeau I spent the off-season program in a red jersey and worked part-time with coaches. Thibodeau’s injury was unknown, as Giants coach Brian Daball declined to say what it was.

However, the mystery is out as Dan Duggan of TheAthletic.com reports that Thibodeau has “corrected” hip.

Duggan adds that the injury is “minor” and Thibodeau is expected to start training camp.

Last season, the fifth man had seven sacks in 10 games, and finished three seasons in Oregon with 19 sacks in 30 games. He also made 126 tackles, including 35.5 for a loss.

The Giants are counting on Thibodeau to help them improve on a pass rush that finished 22nd in the league in sacks last season. Jihad Ward is in the starting lineup opposite Thibodeau with Dexter Lawrence as well as Leonard Williams inside.
