Gono “probably” has a career-ending neck injury, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. The veteran needed neck surgery last year, and when the seizures started this week, Gono felt symptoms again.

According to Raanan, he left the team to see the specialist who performed the operation.

Gono, who signed a one-year deal with the Giants this offseason, was lining up as a substitute right tackle for a likely turning tackle. Beginners Josh Ezeudou as well as Marcus McKethan will climb up the depth chart with Gono’s departure.

Gono has spent his entire career with the Falcons since signing as an undrafted free agent with the club in 2018. He appeared in 21 games with four starts for Atlanta.

Gono sat out last season with an injury before the Falcons released him in late January.
