Patricia, the team’s offensive line coach, controlled most of the team’s 11-on-11 drills, while quarterback coach Joe Judge passed the play on 7-on-7 drills. Bill Belichick had a hand in both settings—and sometimes even relayed the plays himself.

Patricia said that most of the scripts are pre-written., and this offseason, the team is establishing and experimenting with a new offense. The entire offensive staff worked together to formulate this scenario. And while New England is working with a unique offensive coaching structure to kick off training camp, the Patriots are likely to rely more and more on Patricia as their offensive coordinator.

Patricia served as a senior football advisor for the Patriots in 2021 after serving as coach for the Detroit Lions from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, he was the Patriots’ defense coordinator and game operator from 2012 to 2017.
