Report: Sixers interested in Eric Gordon, in the mix for P.J. Tucker

The Philadelphia 76ers are trying to get things going in the right direction during the offseason to acquire players who would fit in with Joel Embiid and James Harden. For now, the 66ers will be looking for players who can hit 3-pointers as well as provide defensive assistance.

The 66ers have been known to buy both Danny Green and the 23rd pick as they look to move forward and fight properly in the Eastern Conference. They want players who are ready to help the team win the championship right now, not to bring in another young player who needs development.

However, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Sixers are interested in pursuing Houston Rockets defenseman Eric Gordon, and they plan to sign PJ Tucker. They were both members of the Houston Rockets when Daryl Morey was there, and they both played with Harden.

Per Windhorst:

Watch out for the Houston Rockets. They’ve already made one deal this offseason. Look for a bit of Eric Gordon’s lottery in the game. A couple of teams that I heard about were interested. Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns. You have Chris Paul looking for a potential reunion with his former teammate. Philadelphia is also pursuing PJ Tucker, who, by the way, just pulled out of a contract with the Miami Heat.

Gordon threw 41.2% from deep in 2021-22 to give the Rockets a solid perimeter defense, while Tucker hit 41.5% from deep for the Miami Heat to help them reach the Eastern Conference Finals. Both players would be good additions to the Sixers if they could swing.
