Like he’s been for over a year, Atlanta John Collins available for sale.
The Utah Jazz, who traded two of their top players and other veterans last offseason and were expected to be in the Victor Vembanyama draw, are instead leading the West 12–6. The consensus in the league right now is that the Jazz will let that play out. They look like a playoff team and Lauri Markkanen plays the best basketball of his career and Danny Ainge and company are not going to blow this team up.
But they can add to this that, according to numerous reports, they have shown interest in the John Collins deal. First, it was Shams Charania from The Athletic.
“I’ve been told that the Utah Jazz is another team that has made a request and shown interest in the last weeks and months.”

The announcement that the Suns were showing interest in Collins was violently brought down by Phoenix radio host and insider John Gambadoro.but league sources have confirmed Utah are among the teams that have expressed interest in the Atlanta forward…
Collins averages just 12.4 points per game and shoots 23.4% from three-point range, while the Hawks come up with 7.9 rebounds, his lowest scoring average since his rookie season in 2017-18, but 25 -year-old player is obviously still much closer to the win line now than the prospect of development.
Another illustration of Utah’s clear willingness to let their current team take any spot on the standings… Jordan Clarksoncontract before they consider an exchange. Clarkson, 30, averages 18.6 points per game and 4.6 assists.
Danny Ainge seems to be taking an athletic young player while he is struggling and his trade value is low and trying to back him up.
The Jazz has veterans and plenty of higher salaries to keep the trade running. For example, Mike Conley for Collins works straight though the Hawks have their backcourt (Trae Young as well as Dejont Murray) and will they want to exchange the young for the old? Malik Beasley and Talen Horton Tucker teamed up for a pay rivalry, but the Hawks will want spades or other players up to the challenge. However, a deal could be worked out.
Nothing is foreseen, but it looks like Collins’ trade will happen at some point and Utah could be the best place for him to land.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Jalen Brunson scored a season-high 34 points while R. J. Barrett as well as Julius Randle each had 25 points, leading the New York Knicks to a 129–119 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night.
Just eight days ago, the Thunder beat the Knicks at Madison Square Garden by 145 points, including 79 in the first half. But this time, New York held off Oklahoma City’s offense for most of the game.
Coach Tom Thibodeau couldn’t say that his team made any special adjustments in the rematch, but pointed to familiarity as the key to better defensive play.
“This is a hard cover. I don’t know if we did something differently, but they got everyone’s attention with their performance last week,” Thibodeau said.

The Knicks took control in the second quarter with Immanuel Quickly coming off the bench, he scored 12 of his 18 points as New York took a double-digit lead, and they eventually increased it to 16 when the starting line-up returned.
Randle had 16 points in the half to lead while the Knicks had 11 points at halftime. Randle finished the game with a double-double, leading all rebounders in the game with 11.
Brunson took over in the third quarter with a dozen points as the Knicks maintained that halftime lead before the finals. An off-season signing free agent achieved his Knicks record by hitting 13 of 14 two-point shots, only missing in the last minute. He was more impressed with how his teammates rose to the occasion.
“It was a total team effort. Julius made us start early and that helped me open up in the second half,” Brunson said. “I was just trying to stay aggressive and stop defensively, and I was lucky that the shots didn’t work out tonight.”
As different players took turns providing offense for New York, Thibodeau was encouraged by the way his team played all four quarters.
“I think they played well with each other and made some good plays to get everyone to work and create quality shots for each other,” Thibodeau said. “When you have that kind of balanced attack, I think it’s hard to tune in to one particular guy.”
