According to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, White has been in the exchange all season and is expected to be back this year. He could potentially be moved at the deadline depending on what happens at the start of this season.

Here’s what Cowley wrote in his article about the rumors when the Bulls dropped several “disappointing” packages:

Mostly outside. He had been on the trading bloc for the last year, but Karnisovas & Co. didn’t like the offers and weren’t going to just give him away. But they also have no intention of renewing him this fall, when White’s rookie contract begins to wind down.

Instead, the Bulls seem willing to leave White for depth purposes, renegotiate his trading value at the deadline if the backcourt is healthy, and if he is a Bull next summer, just let the market price him and decide, whether a restricted free agent would be worth matching.

Cowley also notes how White worked very hard to fix his game and the team gave up on the idea of what he needed to fix.

It’s safe to say that this will be a very important fourth year for White in Chicago.
