Orange has become synonymous with Ricky Fowler on Sundays, and we’ll soon see what the former Oklahoma State star wears on Monday night.
Fowler is the latest PGA Tour star to join Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy in the inaugural season of the TGL, the tech golf league that plays on Monday nights and features 15 regular season games followed by playoffs.
Now up to 59th in the Official World Golf Ranking after dropping to 185th in 2022, Fowler will join Woods, McIlroy, John Rahm, Justin Thomas, Max Home, Collin Morikawa, Matt Fitzpatrick, Adam Scott, Justin Rose, Xander Schaufele and Billy Horschel for the first year.
“The more I learn about TGL, the more excited I am to be a part of it,” Fowler said in a press release. “I love the idea of inviting fans to watch golf in an environment very similar to other prime time professional sports.”
The league is due to launch in January 2024 and will feature six teams of three players competing head-to-head in match play on a virtual golf course combined with a short game complex. The competition will take place at a venue in Palm Beach, Florida and will be broadcast on Monday evenings.
The remaining six players who will take part in the new league will be announced later.
