What Robert Dillingham Might Add to Kentucky in 2023

Dillingham has several important skills to offer Kentucky when it hits the court.

What stands out most about the film is the fearless and imaginative approach to shooting at the basket – a trait shared by many of Calipari’s most successful British defenders – and a three-point shot that should only improve with more reps. He is also a good facilitator, which should pair well with Sheppard and the rest of the class of 2023 in Kentucky.

“I’ve known him since we were younger,” Dillingham told ESPN. “He’s got a sneaky rebound and shoots for a knockdown.”

Dillingham has done a lot to bolster his national rankings ahead of his senior year of high school. In 2021, he was named MVP of the FIBA U16 Americas tournament in Xalapa, Mexico after scoring 31 points in the championship game against Argentina.

Dillingham also shone among the nation’s top players in 2023, playing for Chris Paul’s CP3 team in Nike-sponsored EYBL sessions. In three sessions in 2022, the point guard is fourth in scoring, averaging 19.9 points per game.

Dillingham helped his cause on the EYBL leaderboard with a strong performance in a session held over Memorial Day weekend in Louisville. In five games, he averaged 22.4 points per competition, including 28 points, 56% shooting from the field, and 44% three-pointers. He also had 13 assists, had five interceptions and turned the ball eight times, averaging 26.2 minutes per game.

Dillingham is at least the 11th true 247Sports top 5 point guard prospect in the UK since Calipari took over in April 2009.
