KITZBUHEL, Austria. Roberto Bautista Agut, who finished third, beat wild card Filip Misolic 6-2, 6-2 in the Generali Open final to capture his 11th ATP title.
Bautista Agut lifted his second trophy this year after Doha in his 21st career final. This was his second result on clay after Stuttgart in 2014.
“It’s been a long time since I won a title on clay,” said the Spaniard. “It’s very important to me because I’ve done a lot of good work on that surface.”
Bautista Agut dominated, beating Misolic twice in every set.
“I liked the final, I handled the pressure very well,” said Batista Agut. “I knew I was a bit of a favorite today, but he had so many good wins in this tournament. I had a very good match.”
Earlier on Saturday, Mizolić was due to complete his semi-final against Yannick Hanfmann of Germany, which was cut short the day before due to rain. Mizolić led Hanfmann 1–0 on a tiebreak in the third set.
The 20-year-old Austrian managed to reach the final of his first ATP tournament.
