Raúl Sanllehí was the star of Real Zaragoza this Tuesday morning. The general director has taken advantage of the signing of collaboration with the City Council to deal with important issues such as the salary limitthe renovation of Miguel Torrecilla and the subscriber campaign.
Regarding the budget that the Aragonese club will have to reinforce the squad, the Catalan has been very clear and has reduced the euphoria that existed after the arrival of the new owners: “The salary limit has changed very little and we are still very limited. We are going to try to create a competitive team, aided by group synergies. I’m not worried about lack of movement, We must be professional and calm.”
Although it is true that the new owners are going to put more money, the reality is that it does not allow the budget to vary much due to the large debt that still exists. For this reason, the hands will move with a low budget and it has been one of the reasons that has led the Zaragoza entity to renew Torrecilla, despite the displeasure of a hobby that wanted him out.
“I work very comfortably with him because of his honesty, because he knows how to handle himself within the budget that we have and he has a great knowledge of the category. His commitment is beyond any doubt and we have the same vision for the quarry” explained the general manager.
Finally, Sanllehí revealed that the subscriber campaign will be presented this week: “We hope to exceed expectations. We want our fans to be proud of us and to know that the project is going in the right direction. We need more than ever the support of the stands and for La Romareda to become a fortress again”.
The Lapetra Trophy, postponed due to works
On the other hand, Real Zaragoza has announced that the Carlos Lapetra Trophy is postponed due to the works that must be done in La Romareda for the Spanish team match in September: “The adaptation works that must be undertaken in the La Romareda Stadium for the international match between Spain and Switzerland on September 24 have forced the traditional match of the City of Zaragoza Trophy-Memorial Carlos Lapetra to be postponed. this trophy, located on the calendar at the beginning of August, it serves as the official presentation of Real Zaragoza to its fansjust on the cusp of the league launch”.
“However, the works fundamentally to adapt the lighting, as well as the work in other areas of the stadium – changing rooms, medical services, anti-doping room, press…– prevent them from arriving in time for the celebration of this match, which will take place throughout the season, with a date yet to be determined. The change of lawn is also planned after the organization of Alejandro Sanz’s concert, on June 25,” they indicate. They have also requested to play the first match away from home for the same reason.
