Schwartzman and Pedro Martinez robbed in Eastbourne

Las hotel rooms of the Argentine Diego Schwartzman and the spanish Peter Martinez were robbed this week at the Eastbourne tournament, with some personal valuables stolen.

Martínez, number 49 in the world, said, in statements to The Guardianthat when he got to his room on Monday he saw that the clock was missingwho went around the room looking for it and finally went down to reception to report the theft.

“Fifteen minutes later Diego appeared, the same thing had happened to him”pointed out Martínez, who defeated Alejandro Davidovich due to the Malaga player’s retirement and who assured that it was difficult to compete in those circumstances.

“My watch and Schwartzman’s valuables were stolen. I had a bad night, that’s the truth. I hardly slept. It has been difficult to play, but I have tried to concentrate on playing.”

Martínez assured that the watch that was stolen from him was bought a year ago, when he first reached the third round of Roland Garros. “It had sentimental value. I don’t think they’d find it because there weren’t any cameras in the hallways.”
