Sean Payton’s Panthers interview is on hold

The Panthers planned to interview former Saints head coach Sean Payton for a vacant position at the Carolinas. For now, this meeting has been suspended.

Via Joe Person TheAthletic.com. the interview was postponed after the death of Charlotte FC football player Anton Walks in a boating accident.

Owner David Tepper, his wife Nicole and other team officials returned to Charlotte from New York following the incident.

Payton attracted interest from the Panthers, Broncos, Texans, and Cardinals.
