Many of the PGA Tour stars who played key roles in the Presidents’ Cup are back in action this week at the Shriners Children’s Open 2022, which is due to kick off Thursday in Las Vegas. World No. 4 Patrick Cantley leads the 2022 Shriners Children’s Open, which features 12 of the world’s top 50 players. Defending champion Sungjae Im is also among those golfers, and the 19th-place South Korean set a tournament record 24 under par last year thanks to a final round strength of 62. Cantley and Max Homa were a big part of the United States team. two weeks ago he won 17-0.5-12.5 in the Presidents’ Cup at Quayle Hollow. Cantley went 3-1-0 and Homa went 4-0-0 in Charlotte. I made a valiant effort for the losing international team, finishing 2-2-1. Homa, who won the Fortinet Championship the week before the Presidents’ Cup, is also due to play on Thursday. Homa missed four times in five matches at TPC Summerlin but came out of the season when he won twice and finished fifth in the Tour Championship.

In the latest Shriners Children’s Open 2022 odds from Caesars Sportsbook, Kantley (7-1), Im (10-1) and Homa (15-1) are the favorites. They are the only golfers below 20-1. Aaron Wise (22-1), Tom Kim (22-1) and Taylor Montgomery (28-1) are also among the top contenders for the Shriners Children’s Open 2022. Before making any Shriners Children’s Open 2022 selections, make sure you check out PGA Tour predictions and top bets from golf insider Patrick McDonald.

After working briefly at FanSided and NBC Sports EDGE, McDonald joined CBS Sports as a golf columnist in the spring of 2022. Now covering the sport from a broader perspective, McDonald still enjoys diving into the PGA Tour betting pools on a weekly basis.

He is prudent with his straight pick and finished the 2021-22 season with a 42 lead in those draws, beating Cameron Smith (22-1) at the Tournament of Champions, Hudson Swafford (250-1) at The American Express, Joaquin Niemann (70 -1) at the Genesis Invitational and Justin Thomas (66-1) live at the PGA Championship.

McDonald was successful in both of his head-to-heads at the Sanderson Farms Championship last week, and Dean Burmester just missed out on a 66-1 long game. The 33-year-old rookie burst into the weekend leaderboard but ran out of time to finish fourth, just two strokes back.

Now McDonald has looked into the 2022 Shriners Kids Open Field and is fixing his best bets, best sleepers and favorites to avoid. You can check out SportsLine right now to see all of his PGA picks and predictions..

Shriners Children’s Open Top Experts 2022

Surprisingly, McDonald falls short of Homa, despite his status as the favorite and a solid run. He just didn’t play very well at TPC Summerlin and his approach to the game doesn’t seem to be quite on course. The only time he made a weekend was when he finished 30th and he fell below par just five times in 12 rounds. The California native isn’t collecting birds like he needs to this week. Last season, he was 40th on the birdies tour per round (3.94) and 35th at par (22.76%). It also ranked 118th among Greens in regulation (66 percent).

On the other hand, McDonald knows Cantley’s approach is perfect for Las Vegas as he hits tons of greens and scores low. In fact, he is 70 under par due to his four Shriners appearances. Cantley won the tournament in 2017, finishing second twice and tied for eighth. Last season he averaged almost 4.5 birdies per round, was fifth on the tour and sixth in scoring (69,468). He comes with confidence as his performance in the Presidents Cup came after he won the BMW championship in August and finished seventh in the Tour championship. See who else to choose here.
