Steph celebrating Canelo’s big win: “All we do is win!” originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
Greatness seems to follow Steph Curry wherever he goes.
The Warriors superstar attended a trilogy of boxing match between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin on Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. After Alvarez scored a unanimous decision victory over his longtime rival, Curry celebrated the night with the 32-year-old boxer.
“Here with the champ, baby, Canelo,” Curry said in an Instagram video. “We did it. That’s all we do is win, baby.”
Curry took the fight alongside his former Warriors teammate Juan Toscano-Anderson.
In classic Curry fashion, the reigning NBA Finals MVP erupted with his trademark night-night celebration at the game.
Toscano-Anderson seemed to enjoy the moment, just as he did when Curry put the Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks, and finally the Boston Celtics to sleep during the Warriors’ championship run.
The two players will face each other on October 18, when the 2022-23 NBA season kicks off with a game between the Warriors and Tuscano-Anderson’s new team, the Los Angeles Lakers.
Alvarez waited four years between fights with Golovkin, the same amount Curry lasted between championships, until the Warriors defeated the Celtics in six games in June.
Champions always rise to the top.
