PEBBL BEACH, California. Steve Flesh hit the 18th hole at Pebble Beach on Sunday to win the Pure Insurance Championship, his second win of the PGA Tour Champions season.
A flush with a strong start hit the first four holes and five on the front nine before stopping at the back. But he got the only bird he needed with a shot from about 8 feet on the finishing par-5 hole and a one-shot victory over Ernie Els, Steven Alker and Paul Stankowski.

The flush closed 4 to 68 for a three-round total of 11 to 205 for $330,000. In May, the 55-year-old won the Mitsubishi Electric Classic.
“I hung around there all day,” Flash said. “I got off to a great start, but I think winning at Pebble Beach is every professional golfer’s dream.”
Alker, money leader of the Charles Schwab Cup, was looking to become the first four-time winner on the over-50 tour this year. Els had the best round of the day, 8-64, but missed his first win of the season.
Stankowski made just two scarecrows in a week in the best champion finish of his career, starting 26th.
