Stipe Miocic wants to beat Jon Jones against Cyril Gein.
The two-time UFC heavyweight champion tweeted to name the new heavyweight champion to be crowned after Jones vs Gein for a title left vacant by the departure of Francis Ngannou.
Miocic has not fought since losing the belt via knockout to Ngannou in March 2021. But the 40-year-old firefighter and paramedic thinks a summer fight with a new champion would work just fine.
“March 4 – I love it,” Miocic wrote. “I became a winner in July.”

For a short time, Miocic was attached to the committee to welcome Jones’ heavyweight debut. Jones revealed that a fight with Miocic was in development for UFC 282 last December. UFC President Dana White then bluntly dismissed the idea, telling reporters that it was not in development.
Miocic and Jones were scheduled to fight at UFC 218, with Jones gaining weight to challenge the then-champion. White later said that a failed drug test by Jones disproved the idea.
Miocic’s comeback was in doubt after his knockout loss to Ngannou. The most successful heavyweight in UFC history, he defended the belt three times during his first run as champion, including a decision over then-rival Ngannou. In the second run, he avenged his knockout loss to Cormier and won a couple of rematches before conceding the belt.
