Nottingham Forest v Brentford result: An own goal in stoppage time cost the Bis two points as they were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw at the City Ground on Saturday.

Morgan Gibbs-White gave Nottingham Forest the lead in the 20th minute, but Brian Mbeumo equalized from a penalty in stoppage time in the first half and Ioan Wyssa, who had previously taken a penalty, made it 2-1 in the 75th. Brentford were so close to the line with a win and three points, but the Bees failed to clear the ball in their own box, then in their six-yard box, and in the end the ball went over the goal line (by an inch or two) with less than 60 seconds of added time until the end of the game.
This point is still good for both sides as Brentford (16 points) remain 10th in the Premier League table. Meanwhile, Forest (10 points) leveled with Wolves in 19th and just two defenders in 17th (Southampton, currently).

Forest hold on there and this big win over Liverpool keeps them at arm’s length from the bottom of the table and out of the relegation zone. Steve Cooper’s team have won two of 13 games this season and are three points behind safety. Both of those victories came at home and they need to feed on the energy of their fans and get back to a more solid position after that defeat at Arsenal. It’s been a strange season for Brentford and it’s been a real mixed bag. They could have won against Wolves last time but they need to improve in the game as they have yet to win the Premier League this season. The “bees” are always interesting to watch, but in this game they will be without the main protagonist Ivan Tony, as he received five yellow cards and was disqualified.
Uniform players to keep an eye on
Forest’s Taiwo Avoni will be a real threat at the top, while Ryan Yates has been great in midfield and Dean Henderson continues to put in a lot of reps in goal and does his best to play the hero. For Brentford, top player Ivan Toni has eight Premier League goals to his credit (only Erling Haaland and Harry Kane have more), but he won’t be playing, so Brian Mbuemo and Joana Wisse will be tasked with attacking the Bees. Ben Mee and Rico Henry have very solid ad campaigns.
Nottingham Forest team news, injuries, squad options
Omar Richards, Jack Kolbak, Harry Toffolo and Moussa Niakate remain on the sidelines, while Steve Cooper will have a few changes in mind as Neko Williams and Brennan Johnson can start.

Team Brentford News, Injuries, Squad Options
Tony’s absence is a major blow to Brentford and Mbuemo, Wissa and Mikkel Damsgaard could launch an attack. Pontus Jansson and Aaron Hickey are both injury-free, which is another blow, while Matthias Jensen and Christian Norgaard are both in question.
