On Sunday, Auto Club Speedway will host its final 2 mile Cup race. NASCAR has announced plans to convert the speedway to a short track, but details remain limited.

Sunday’s race will be the 33rd Cup race at Fontana, California. Jimmie Johnson has the most wins with six. Kevin Harvick will make his 29th start at the track, the most of all time.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. coming out for the weekend after winning the Daytona 500 and a media tour that took him to Disney World, Chicago and New York this week.

START OFF: Michael Rooker, who played Rowdy Burns in Days of Thunder, will command the engines to start at 3:38 pm… The green flag should go up at 3:47 pm.

PRERACE: Cup Garage opens at 12:30 pm… Drivers Meet at 2:40 pm… Driver Introduction at 3:05 pm… Appeal by George Beasley, Executive Pastor of High Desert Church, at 3:30 pm… Jacques Rivera National Anthem will be played at 3:31 pm

DISTANCE: The race is 200 laps (400 miles) on a 2 mile race track.

STAGES: Stage 1 ends on lap 65. Stage 2 ends on lap 130.

TV/RADIO: FOX will broadcast the race at 14:30. Pre-race coverage starts at 14:00 on FS1. … The Motor Racing Network broadcast starts at 2:30 p.m. and will also be broadcast on; SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will broadcast MRN.

The Daytona 500 wins among the many things that make pit crew member JTG Daugherty unique.

The second race of the NASCAR Xfinity Series season is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Auto Club Speedway.

Rein canceled practice and qualifying on Saturday, placing Austin Hill on a pole. Hill won the first Xfinity event last week at Daytona International Speedway and will be one of the favorites for the ACS.

Garret Smithley And Ryan Vargas failed to make field.

Two cup racers Austin Dillon And Tyler Reddick – are part of the Xfinity line.

The start of the 300 mile race is scheduled for 17:00 ET (FS1).

Incessant rain forced NASCAR to cancel Saturday practice and qualifying for scheduled Cup and Xfinity Series races at Auto Club Speedway.

The starting lineups for the two races were set according to consolidated rules. Christopher Bell will be on pole in Sunday’s Cup race, and Austin Hill will start first in Xfinity.

The Xfinity race is due to start at 5:00 pm ET on Saturday. Rain is expected around the track in the afternoon.

Sunday’s Cup race is scheduled for 15:30 ET.

The Cup and Xfinity cars are due to hit Auto Club Speedway on Saturday, weather permitting. Rain is forecast all Saturday.

Cup cars plan to train and qualify. Xfinity cars are scheduled for practice, qualifying and racing.
