Kennedy Nzechukwu was not scheduled to compete in the main event of UFC Vegas 65 and during the round it looked like he would be unable to headline.

But the strong light heavyweight made an impressive comeback in the second round, knocking down Ion Cutelaba with powerful punches and scoring in the 62nd second of the frame. Those are two wins in a row for Nzechukwu, who has extended his UFC record to 5-3.

Nzechukwu and Kutelaba didn’t even know they were going to end the show at UFC APEX in Las Vegas until shortly before the main card began on the air, it was announced that the originally planned headliner between heavyweights Derrick Lewis and Sergei Spivak had been canceled after Lewis had to go to the hospital, and later he was not allowed to compete.

This left Saturday’s event with just 11 fights and a shortage of stars, but the main map still managed to deliver competitive competition and thrilling finishes.
