What better place for the return of the international tournament of LaLiga Promises than the one where dreams come true. World Disney World Resort, Orlando, will host the VI edition from today until next Sunday, a perfect setting for the kids to make their dreams fly. The novelty of this edition is that they will compete second year fingerlings and also first year childrento give the latter, those born in 2009, the possibility of playing such a special tournament, an option they could not have after the tournament was suspended for the last two years due to the pandemic.
A tournament that has traditionally dominated the Barcelona With an Iron Fist: Has won four of the previous five. It would be five out of six if we count the one played in Miami in 2015 with Xavi Simons as MVP, a tournament that was played in addition to the one held in Barranquilla. The Espanyol complete the list of winners with their victory in 2018. The azulgrana team will defend its title against Real Madrid, Betis, Seville, Villarreal Atlético and Valenciaplus three American teams –Inter Miami, FC Dallas e IdeaSport Soccer Academy– and two Mexicans –CD Guadalajara and Atlas FC.
THE EXAMPLE OF NICO
Some of the stars of Spanish soccer will be seen the day after tomorrow in Orlando. They will seek to follow the example of Nico Gonzalez, first MVP of the tournament in 2014, in the edition played in Lima. The still very young midfielder has already made his debut and scored with the first team of the Barcelonaand is one of the best assets to come out of the farmhouse in recent years. They complete the list of best player of the tournament Carlos Alvarez (Seville) in 2015, James (Real Madrid) in 2017, Eloy (Valencia) in 2018, and Carlos Diez (Real Madrid) in 2019.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have won the two LaLiga Promises tournaments held this year. The whites beat the Catalans 0-1 in the final of the tournament played in Gran Canariawhile Barcelona got rid of the thorn by taking the title in Villarreal against Valencia just three weeks ago.
