This big 3-star offensive tackle steps away from Gators commitment

In an announcement posted on his Twitter account on Friday evening, Tommy Kinsler announced his decision to leave the Florida Gators. Kinsler promised the Gators on June 19, but the promise only lasted twelve days. This development is frankly unexpected, since this recruiting cycle began, he was considered almost a castle to play for the Orange-Blues.

A native of Ocala, Kinsler lives in alligator country. However, it looks like another team from Florida is trying to stick their dirty paws into an area that should be Billy Napier’s recruiting base. Kinsler’s dismissal comes immediately after his official visit to Miami’s Mario Cristobal team. Then, immediately after the announcement that he was leaving Florida, four 247Sports experts have added crystal ball predictions in favor of the canes.

“Dear Alligator Nation” wrote Kinsler“After several days of deep thought and prayer, I have decided to withdraw from the University of Florida. It was a very difficult decision for me and my family. I would like to thank the entire Florida Gators coaching staff for the time, effort and energy they put into me. Please respect this decision.”

There are two views on this. The first is to shrug and point out that Kinsler can be replaced. He’s big, like many other linemen in the country. Its three-star rating reflects a possible SEC contributor, but a well-known school like Florida can put hard pressure on just about any three-star recruit and stand a good chance of getting one.

On the other hand, it is alarming that the offensive line coaches Rob Sale as well as Darnell Stapletonwho had such huge success with the Ragin’ Cajuns, weren’t able to get full support for their system from the hometown rookie they’d been working with from day one.

We hope that the commitment from Monroe Freeling, Francis Mauigoaor Payton Kirkland is right around the corner.
