The Gators may get some good recruiting news next week.
Cedric Baxterformer Florida State Officer, told Chad Simmons from On3 that he will announce his intention on 10 August. A native of Orlando, Florida, graduated from four schools: Florida, TexasMiami and Texas A&M.
Baxter took pains to tell Simmons that he had three schools at the top of his list in the last few months. But more recently, he narrowed the list down to one school. Baxter will opt for a more traditional announcement: hats from all four schools will be on the table at Edgewater High School in Orlando.
Baxter kept his decision a secret, telling Simmons that only his parents knew about it and that not even his siblings were involved in the decision. While praising all four programs in his On3 interview, Baxter can only attend one school. Currently, Florida and Texas are the only schools with the prospect of runners committed to the class of 2023.
On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has “Longhorns” in Baxter’s driver seat, giving a 75.9% chance of signing a 6ft 1in, 215lb candidate.
According to On3 Consensus, Baxter is the 50th player in the country, 13th in the state of Florida, and 4th running back in the country.
