Last year at the 2021 PNC Championships, Tiger Woods played competitive golf for the first time since a crash in February that nearly claimed his life.
Tiger has played golf several times since then, including three majors this year, but he hasn’t been seen in public since missing the cut at the 150th Open at St Andrews in July.
This will change in December.
Next week he will host the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas and take part in it. The following week, he competes in a 12-hole light show with Rory McIlroy against Justin Thomas and Jordan Spit “The Match”.
But then Tiger and son Charlie will take the stage for the 2022 PNC Championships the weekend before Christmas. The couple was announced on Friday as the event teased fans on social media over Thanksgiving.
Tiger and Charlie stole the show in 2020 when they made their debut, as Charlie made his first public appearance at a golf game. They finished second together last year behind John Daley and John II.
Now Tiger and 13-year-old Charlie will be aiming for the trophy. And they’re going to be fan favorites, especially with the recent improvements to Charlie’s game. He shot in a quarry in september with his father on the bag.
The 2022 PNC Championship will take place at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida from December 15-18. Also involved in this area are Justin Thomas and his father Mike, Nelly Korda and her father Peter, among many others.
