As the Buccaneers began their Friday morning practice, reporters noticed something a little out of the ordinary.

But there is no need to panic, apparently. According to several reporters, Brady was excused from the hearing on a personal matter.

Brady’s absence shouldn’t matter too much at this stage of training camp, given the quarterback’s knowledge and experience in scheme coordinator Byron Leftwich. A few days off in a row can benefit Brady’s body. He didn’t practice on Wednesday and the Buccaneers didn’t practice on Thursday.

Kyle Trask, whom Tampa Bay picked in the second round last year, could get more replays after Brady’s departure. Head coach Todd Bowles said Wednesday that he has seen Trask get used to the offense.

“He’s sure of where he’s going, he understands everything,” Bowles said. “We put him in a lot of situations where he gets some experience. That’s all we can ask for right now.”
