Hendersonville (Tensylvania) Pope John Paul II Quarterback Top247 Kenny Minchi made a commitment to Notre Dame, a stunning late pickup truck for freshman head coach Marcus Freeman and his staff. Minchi made an official visit to South Bend over the weekend.

“I’m delighted,” Minci said. “I like the coaches, obviously they have a good young coaching staff.”

“I like Coach Freeman, what he builds. He seems like a great guy and cares about his players. There is a culture, and, obviously, it has great traditions. He’s trying to build on existing traditions.”

Pitt’s former employee, Minci, at 6’1 1/2″ and weighing 217 pounds, has also received offers from the states of Michigan, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia, among others.

Notre Dame proposed Minci at the end of the summer. He forged a strong relationship with offensive coordinator Tommy Rees. Chad Bowden was instrumental in making Minchi comfortable in South Bend.

“Training, my mom was talking about how great the school is there as it sets you up for life after football,” Minci said. His verbal skills are ranked 3rd in the 247Sports Composite.

“I would say that the recruiting class plays a big role because of the players they will attract around me.”

Minci has all the qualities to make a difference for the Irish in the future.

“As a person, he’s a pretty humble kid,” Pope John Paul II head coach Brian Sneed told 247Sports this fall. “Don’t get too high or too low. He is a calming force in our team, no matter what we do. He stays calm and goes about his business

“As a player, apart from his hand talent, when you have good players they will have hand talent, but his preparation and the way he watches the movie and asks questions and makes sure he understands the game plan and where he reads it and where the ball flies. When he first came in as a sophomore, he didn’t start as a sophomore at the start of the season, we had a senior, but he got back there taking all the drops and making air nets with running back and everything our starter did. but not to live

When he took the field in his first start, everyone thought he exploded on stage, but it was preparation that got him off to a hot start and got him where he is today.

“The touch he has is pretty incredible. It can put directly on the receiver on deeper routes. Here’s what we saw this year. He also has an incredible ability to kick the ball behind midfielders and get ahead of defenders. There are moments in training when I don’t have the opportunity to train our defense, they are in a good position, but he can fit into tight windows and he has confidence in that. It does an excellent job of opening receivers. Especially on corner tracks. He would drop him in two or three steps before they interrupted their route.

Minchi is ranked 24th among the Irish in the 2023 cycle.
