Richarlison joined Everton for £50m from Watford in 2018.

The 25-year-old scored 53 goals in 152 appearances for the Toffees, scoring six goals in the last nine games of last season and keeping the Merseyside club in the Premier League.

Everton need to complete the sale on Thursday to balance the books with the fiscal year ending June 30, according to the BBC and Sky Sports.

Everton have recorded losses of £372m over the last three years.

Leeds and relegated Burnley have reportedly approached the Premier League about Everton’s compliance with financial fair play.

Premier League rules say clubs could lose £105m over a three-year period, but those rules have been relaxed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A move to Spurs has satisfied Richarlison’s desire to play in the Champions League, but he faces stiff competition to play regularly, with Harry Kane and Heung Min Son filling the positions he most often played for Everton.

Tottenham have already backed Antonio Conte during the transfer window by signing Croatian winger Ivan Perisic, midfielder Yves Bissum and new substitute goalkeeper Fraser Forster.
