Charles Robinson welcomes Sportzshala’s new NFL reporters Charles McDonald as well as Jori Epstein on a podcast on Wednesdays. They start the holiday with the end of another holiday: indeed, the Pro Bowl is no more. The team debates whether this is good for the game, as well as the news that Rihanna will headline the Super Bowl halftime show next February.
Later on the podcast, Jory reports from Dallas where there may or may not be some serious QB competition between undefeated Cowboys understudy Cooper Rush and Dak Prescott, the latter of whom is still recovering from thumb surgery. Is Jerry Jones really going to fan the flames of controversy here, or is it all just bluster from the NFL’s greatest showman.
The trio then turn their attention to Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa and Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts. Both teams are undefeated after Week 3 and accordingly lead the NFL in many passing metrics. Our hosts discuss what it means for the dolphins and eagles to seemingly leave the QB desert now that Tua and Jalen appear to be taking the leap to stardom.
After that, the group closes the podcast discussing how the class of 2021 QBs (Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Justin Fields, Mack Jones and Davis Mills) are decimated by injury and uncertainty in just 20 games of their young career.
Finally, the podcast concludes with a discussion of the five key games from Week 4 to keep an eye on this weekend.
