Tyrese Maxey gives thoughts on PJ Tucker, other new additions to Sixers

PHILADELPHIA. The Philadelphia 76ers will be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference for the 2022-2023 season as they have one of the most talented rosters in the NBA.

They are led by an all-star duo of Joel Embiid and James Harden, rising star Tyrese Maxey and versatile forward Tobias Harris. They have also been buffed this offseason with new additions from the front office.

The Sixers were busy in the off-season as they traded De’Anthony Melton on draft night, and they also worked quickly as free agents to bring in PJ Tucker as well as Danuel House Jr. All three of these guys are expected to help the Sixers. and be part of their rotation.

“I think the guys bring in the toughness,” Maxi said Saturday at his 1% skill camp. “They are toughening up our team and it will be great to see them at camp and I can’t wait to get started.”

Tucker, in particular, was part of the Miami Heat team that eliminated the 66ers in the playoffs and also won the ring with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021. the team kept talking about what they needed after they have been removed.

“Definitely,” Maxi said. “I think they will definitely help us with mental resilience. I think they will also help with just physical endurance. The courage and tenacity that we need to bring to our team, and also, I think guys like PJ will bring a championship mentality. I think we really appreciate him for that.”

As training camp for this team continues to get closer, the addition of Tucker, Melton and House Jr. will play a big role in what the Sixers have to do this season.
