UCF’s home game vs. SMU moved to Wednesday due to Hurricane Ian

The fifth week of the student football season will last until Wednesday. due to Hurricane Jan.

The American Athletic Conference announced on Friday that SMU and UCF will play Wednesday night. The game kicks off at 7:00 pm ET and will air on ESPN2.

SMU’s trip to Orlando was originally scheduled for Saturday, but the game was rescheduled for Sunday earlier in the week due to Hurricane Yan. The UCF said on Friday that the game was pushed back to Wednesday due to the hurricane’s impact on Orlando and the surrounding area.

The move to Wednesday was made possible by the schedules of both teams. “Mustangs” and “Knights” will be held in the 6th week. The next UCF game after the SMU match will be on Friday 13 October and SMU will play on Saturday 14 October. Playing on Wednesday also means there will be an FBS game on Wednesday. nights every week of the season after October 26th.

The AAC game was not the only college football game to be postponed due to Hurricane Jan. South Carolina’s game against South Carolina State was rescheduled for Thursday night and the Gamecocks won 50-10. The Eastern Washington trip to Florida is now scheduled for noon ET on Sunday after it was rescheduled from Saturday. This game will be broadcast on the SEC network.

The hurricane did not affect any NFL games. On Thursday, the NFL announced that Tampa Bay’s home game against Kansas City would go ahead as scheduled on Sunday night, with the Jacksonville Jaguars going to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. On Thursday night, the Miami Dolphins lost to the Cincinnati Bengals.
