RIO DE JANEIRO – Daniel Markos made his first impression on Saturday when he inflicted a clinic at UFC 283.
in UFC 283 preliminary card, Marcos (14-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) defeated Simon Oliveira (18-5 MMA, 0-2 UFC) with a string of vicious punches that resulted in a TKO stoppage at 2:18 of round 2. The event took place at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro.
The methodical analysis of Marcos from Peru ended with a crumpled knee into the body of Oliveira, who collapsed in pain. Marcos lashed out for a few more shots, but the damage had already been done. Referee Fernando Portella stepped in and waved the fight off.
Marcos, 29, signed with the UFC after performance of a contract in the Contender Series by Dana White. This fight was his first since 2019. In 14 professional fights, Marcos finished eight times.
The 31-year-old Oliveira was in a skid due to two fights. The defeat was the first early defeat in his professional career.
