UFC 285: Expert picks and best best for Jones vs. Gane

Former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will make his heavyweight debut this weekend when he challenges former interim champion Cyril Gein for the vacant heavyweight title at UFC 285. Jones has not fought since 2020, when he successfully defended his 205-pound world title against Dominick Reyes. Gein, ranked #2 in Sportzshala’s division, knocked out Tai Tuivas in the third round in his last fight. He lost to Francis Ngannou in his previous fight for the heavyweight title.

In the co-main event, flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko will defend her title for the ninth consecutive time against Alexa Grasso.

Shevchenko, ranked No. 2 in the Sportzshala Women’s rankings regardless of weight class, defeated Tayla Santos via split decision in her last fight. Grasso, ranked 7th in the women’s flyweight division, has won four fights in a row, with her most recent victory coming by unanimous decision against Vivian Araujo.
