UFC Fight Night: Krylov vs. Spann odds, predictions, time: Top MMA expert makes surprising fight card picks

Light heavyweight contender Ryan Spann says he’s motivated by the idea that Saturday’s win over veteran Nikita Krylov in the main event of UFC Fight Night: Krylov vs. Spann represents his fastest route to a potential title shot. A five-round battle between ranked opponents will seal the UFC’s main fight card (7:00 pm ET) at the Apex facility in Las Vegas. Spann, ranked 8th, has won two straight games by stoppage and is likely to break into the top five on Saturday’s impressive run. He told the media this week that he has a sense of urgency because he wants a title shot but knows he has limited time left in his athletic prime. Krylov, ranked 6th, is also looking to advance to the title picture with a win on his debut.

Krylov is a -170 favorite (risk $170 to win $100) while Spann comes back at +145 in Caesars Sportsbook’s latest UFC Fight Night: Krylov vs. Spann. Explosive middleweight prospects will face off in the co-main event when Andre Muniz (-200) takes on Brendan Allen (+170). UFC Fight Night Preview: Krylov vs. Spann

The main event features veterans who have overcome some adversity to reach the top 10 rankings, and the winner will take a major step forward towards the coveted title shot.

Although he is only 30 years old, Krylov (29-9) is already 11 years old as an MMA pro and is competing in the UFC for the second time. His varied skills and strong finishing potential are exemplified by his 15 submission victories, 12 knockouts and just two decisions.

The crafty Ukrainian is only 4-4 since returning to the UFC in 2018, but all of his fights have been against world-class opponents. He lost to former champions Teixeira and Jan Blachowicz, as well as runner-up Magomed Ankalaev. However, he enters Saturday’s main event with a two-fight winning streak.

The 31-year-old Spann (21-7) has been an MMA pro for nearly a decade and has also built a strong resume before joining the UFC. His previous stops included a 3–0 run through the Legacy Fighting Alliance with all wins coming by stoppage.

Spann earned a place in the roster after winning the Dana White’s Contender Series and went 7-2 in nine UFC fights, five of which were by distance. His losses were inflicted on fellow ranked contenders Anthony Smith (No. 5) and Johnny Walker (No. 7). You can only see who to pick at UFC Fight Night on SportsLine..

UFC Fight Night Predictions

We share here one of Vitlani’s UFC Fight Night picks: he backs Tatiana Suarez (-800) to take down Montana De La Rosa (+550) in the women’s strawweight contenders battle on the main card.

Suarez (8-0) is widely regarded as one of the most versatile and promising prospects to emerge at the minimum weight in recent years. However, a series of injuries forced her to put her career on hold and she has not been in the cage since June 2019. She made the decision to defeat Nina Nunes at UFC 238.

De La Rosa (12-7-1) is a grappling specialist with eight submissions in 12 pro victories. The four-year UFC veteran fought just once last year and lost a decision to rising prospect Maisie Barber in April.

“It looks like Suarez could be a serious contender in the women’s featherweight division. Her ground game is brutal, with early wins against top-tier talent. De La Rosa is likely to be on her back and in trouble from the start,” Vitlani said. SportLine. See who else to bring back here.
