UFC Fight Night: Krylov vs. Spann odds, predictions, time: Top MMA expert reveals surprising fight card picks

Two of the most versatile light heavyweight contenders will face off on Saturday in the main event of UFC Fight Night: Krylov vs. Spann, where 6th seeded Nikita Krylov takes on 8th seeded Ryan Spann in the main event. Their five-round battle tops the UFC’s main fight card (7pm ET) at the Apex facility in Las Vegas. The winner will most likely enter both the top five rankings and the title photo in a division that has seen a lot of movement lately. Jamahal Hill became champion after defeating Glover Teixeira in January, but his next opponent has yet to be decided among the many candidates.

Krylov is a -170 favorite (risk $170 to win $100) while Spann comes back at +145 in Caesars Sportsbook’s latest UFC Fight Night: Krylov vs. Spann. Explosive middleweight prospects will face off in the co-main event when Andre Muniz (-200) takes on Brendan Allen (+170). UFC Fight Night Preview: Krylov vs. Spann

The main event features veterans who have overcome some adversity to reach the top 10 rankings, and the winner will take a major step forward towards the coveted title shot.

Although he is only 30 years old, Krylov (29-9) is already 11 years old as an MMA pro and is competing in the UFC for the second time. His varied skills and strong finishing potential are exemplified by his 15 submission victories, 12 knockouts and just two decisions.

The crafty Ukrainian is only 4-4 since returning to the UFC in 2018, but all of his fights have been against world-class opponents. He lost to former champions Teixeira and Jan Blachowicz, as well as runner-up Magomed Ankalaev. However, he enters Saturday’s main event with a two-fight winning streak.

The 31-year-old Spann (21-7) has been an MMA pro for nearly a decade and has also built a strong resume before joining the UFC. His previous stops included a 3–0 run through the Legacy Fighting Alliance with all wins coming by stoppage.

Spann earned a place in the roster after winning the Dana White’s Contender Series and went 7-2 in nine UFC fights, five of which were by distance. His losses were inflicted on fellow ranked contenders Anthony Smith (No. 5) and Johnny Walker (No. 7). You can only see who to pick at UFC Fight Night on SportsLine..

UFC Fight Night Predictions

We’ll share one of Vitlani’s UFC Fight Night picks here: he’s going with Jordan Leavitt (-105) to raise his hand against Victor Martinez (-115) in a lightweight prospects matchup on the preliminary card.

Leavitt (10-2) is a versatile prospect who has won 3-2 in five UFC appearances. The 27-year-old Las Vegas native went 1-1 in 2022 and lost to much-touted British prospect Paddy Pimblett last July.

Martinez (13-4) is making his UFC debut on a seven-fight winning streak, including stops at promotions such as Combate and Fury FC. The 31-year-old Texan earned a place on the UFC roster by defeating Jacob Rosales in the Dana White Challenger Series.

“Martínez’s takedown defense is a bit iffy and if Leavitt pulls an early takedown and dictates the fight on his own terms, I don’t know if he can recover,” Vitlani told SportsLine. See who else to bring back here.
