This is the UFC Vegas 55 live blog of the key bantamweight main event between former champion Holly Holm and Kathleen Vieira at UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
Holm, the No. 3 bantamweight fighter in the global MMA Fighting rankings, returns to the octagon for the first time since her October 2020 performance against Irene Aldana, which ended in a unanimous decision victory and extended her current streak to two fights. The former champion is looking to return to the title after losing three featherweight and bantamweight title fights.
Meanwhile, Vieira is ranked 7th and is still looking for his first title fight after eight UFC appearances. She was once a contender with four straight wins but was stopped by Aldana and has gone 2-1 ever since, with a recent win over ex-champ Miesha Tate marking her final appearance.
