It was actually a hammer fist that got the Parisian into trouble, but he came back with revenge at the end of the first round and then again in the second when he laid Bodo on the canvas where the French fighter just could not find salvation. Once the Parisian took over, he started dropping bombs, forcing referee Mark Smith to save Bodo from further damage.

“I must have been in a lot of pain because I don’t remember [the knockdown]”, Paris said after the fight. “I thought he had nothing on earth. It strengthened him when my corner told me.”

The heavyweights were more than happy to trade bombs on their feet, with Bodo and Parisian throwing heavy skin back and forth in multiple exchanges. Bodo’s early blow opened a gash under the Parisian’s eye, and blood began to drip down his face.

As the fighters continued to trade blows, Bodo hit the Parisian with a hammer fist that sent the veteran Contender series down in a heap to the canvas. Bodo was waiting for the finish line, but Parisian went into survival mode to hang out until his feelings returned.

The Parisian eventually got back on his feet, and that’s when he was looking for a takedown that ended with Bodo landing on the mat shortly before the end of the first round. From there, the Parisian opened up a flurry of punches, and Bodo just got under him.

Realizing his dominance on the ground, the Parisian quickly dropped Bodo back to the mat early in the second round, where he began to really hit with hammers from the top position. The Parisian refused to stop as Bodo was trapped at the bottom and his gas tank was also gone.

The punches continued, the Parisian simply punishing Bodo until the referee finally saw enough to step in and stop the fight.

The comeback win helped the Parisian back into the winning column after losing his last fight, while Bodo fell to 0-3 with one no bout inside the octagon in what could be his last fight in the UFC.
