Mario Batista did not spare his opponent, who returned after a long break.
In the bantamweight preliminary fight at UFC Vegas 64, Batista made short work of the returning Benito Lopez, punching him in the legs and ending the fight with an arm triangle at 4:54 of the first round.

Bautista looked like the favorite as he dominated every aspect of the fight, from punching to grappling. Despite the success he had on his feet, Batista decided to change levels and take Lopez downstairs, where he worked on setting up a triangular bar that made him hit.
This is Bautista’s third win in a row after wins over Brian Kelleher and Jay Perrin. He improves to 5-2 in the UFC, with three of those wins coming by knockout or submission.
Lopez competed for the first time since July 13, 2019, for 1,211 days. His UFC record drops to 2-2.
