Vanessa Bryant settles helicopter crash photos lawsuits for $28.9 million Raptors sign Will Barton to add wing depth for remainder of season Suns announce Durant expected to make debut Wednesday vs. Hornets Giannis Antetokounmpo jokingly reading “trash talk” to Jokić, Durant, LeBron is brilliant Lillard on finishing his career in Portland: ‘I’m also willing to die on that hill’
The legal drama over the improper sharing of photos by Los Angeles County sheriffs and firefighters from the scene of the fatal helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant and eight others has ended, and the county has paid nearly $30 million to Bryant’s widow.
Vanessa Bryant settled her remaining claims against Los Angeles County for a total of $28.9 million, including a previous jury verdict awarding her $15 million, ending all pending and future litigation. NBC News is confirmed in a statement by Mira Hushmoll, Los Angeles County’s lead trial attorney for the case.. The settlement agreement is subject to court approval, but it is rare that it is not granted in the case of a settlement agreement.
“We hope that Ms. Bryant and her children continue to recover from the loss,” Hashmoll said in a statement.
“Today marks the successful culmination of Mrs. Bryant’s courageous struggle to bring to justice those involved in this grotesque behavior,” Bryant’s attorney, Louis Lee, said in a statement. This is stated in a statement to USA Today.. “She fought for her husband, her daughter and all those in the community whose deceased family was treated with the same disrespect. We hope that her victory in court and this settlement will put an end to this practice.”
Bryant said after the first verdict she would donate money to the Mamba & Mambacita sports foundation, although it’s unclear if she will do so with the second part of the settlement.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s and Fire Department officers took and posted on their phones photographs of the tragic and horrific crash site on January 26, 2000. The images were circulated primarily to district employees, but some were spotted by workers’ spouses at the scene. , one person showed photographs to people he spoke to at the awards banquet, and in another case, the photographs were given to the bartender at the bar where the deputy was drinking.
Bryant testified during a previous trial that news of the circulating photos added to her grief less than a month after losing her husband and daughter in that accident. She said she lived in fear that the photos would appear on social media and her daughters would see them.
The Toronto Raptors wanted a little more depth in the two-back and wing position for the remainder of the season and turned to a guy who had proven himself offensively to get it.
Raptors to sign free agent Will Barton for the rest of the season, history is broken by both Shams Charania from The Athletic And Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN and has since been confirmed by the Raptors. Predators refused Good Cruz Juancho Hernangomes to create a place in the squad.
The Wizards bought out Barton after the trade deadline. The 11-year NBA veteran brings depth and shooting to the defensive end, hitting 38% of 3 this season and highly respected in the locker room. In a way, it’s like a trade-off between a defensive-minded player who can’t leave space (Hernangomes) for a striker who will earn them points but not be a good defender (Burton).
Barton will step off the bench behind Gary Trent Jr. And OG Anunobi on the wing with Otto Porter out of season (foot surgery), minutes are currently running Jeff Doutin junior and Joe Wiskamp.
By adding Kevin DuranThe Phoenix Suns were instantly rivals.
Except we haven’t seen it yet – but we’re going to. As expected, Durant will make his debut on Wednesday against Charlotte, the Suns announced.
Kevin Durant is expected to make his Phoenix Suns debut tomorrow with the Charlotte.

Durant’s addition Devin Booker, Chris Paul And Deandre Ayton should make the Suns a contender in the West that seems wide open (even though Denver is out of the pack). Durant puts Phoenix on par with the competition because when he was healthy this season, he played at the MVP level, averaging 30 points per game with a 67.5 shooting percentage, plus adding 6.8 rebounds and 5. 4 transfers per night. Durant has been out since Jan. 9 with an MCL sprain — his trade to Phoenix came while he was sidelined — but he has a history of recuperating from injuries.
There are questions about what Phoenix will look like: can they defend well enough to win? Is everyone willing to sacrifice some of their game to make it all fit? In particular, would Ayton be comfortable with his role changing, receiving fewer passing touches and more choice when asked to rebound and secure?
This team doesn’t have much time to play properly on this team – take a look at the Mavericks to see how much of a problem that can be – but if the Suns are going to be the best team in the West, we’re starting to see Wednesday night in Charlotte (against a small Hornets team with no Lamelo Ball).
Giannis Antetokounmpo swung Comedy Central Daily Show with guest host Hasan Minhaj – a huge NBA fan – to promote Charles Antetokounmpo Foundation and talk a little about American culture (like how Antetokounmpo first tasted classic American sweets).
But Minhai wanted the trash talk that Minhai wrote for Antetokounmpo, aimed at Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, Kevin Duran And LeBron James. Antetokounmpo played along and it’s a classic.

The best part about this is how uncomfortable Antetokumbō is with this, it doesn’t come naturally to him.
In no case will this happen again during the NBA playoffs.
