Raufeon Stots and Danny Sabatello went through another round or two during the press conference for their interim bantamweight title fight at Bellator 289.
With Dale Brown of Detroit Urban Survival Training (DUST) sitting between them, Stots and Sabatello needed little to no prompting for a trash talk session that covered all the usual grounds: threats, cruel predictions, and plenty of swearing.
While Stotts and Sabatello exchanged insults, Brown carried an impressively tenacious demeanor. You can watch the full video above, courtesy of the Bellator PR You Tube account.
Stots made his first bantamweight title defense after a knockout victory over former featherweight champion Juan Archuleta at Bellator 279. He remains undefeated in his Bellator career after six fights and has only lost once in 19 pro fights.
Opposite Stots is the verbal and wrestling threat of Sabatello, who stormed into the title frame with three consecutive victories, including bantamweight standout Leandro Higo.
After the match was announced, Stotts and Sabatello went to the jugular. During a speech at Hour of MMAhost Ariel Helwani defuses a near-fight when they compare resumes and skill sets.
The situation was physically calmer (no doubt due to Brown) backstage at Bellator 288 and after last Friday’s fight when they collided (and flipped) against each other.
