New coach Brian Kelly won’t necessarily put the team back in first-year title contention, but it’s expected to slightly improve LSU’s national standing. These projections have LSU pattern penn state in that game.

The two teams have already met twice—both in bowl games—and the Nittany Lions posted a 2-0 record in an all-time series. They won the 1974 Orange Bowl 16-9 and survived a 19-17 brawl at the Capital One Bowl in 2010.
