GIANNI INFANTINO: Today I have very strong feelings, I’ll tell you. Today I feel like a Qatari. Today I feel like an Arab. Today I feel like an African. Today I feel gay. Today I feel disabled. Today I feel like a guest worker. I am European. In fact, I am a European, I do not just feel like a European.

I think that for what we Europeans have been doing for the last 3000 years around the world, we should apologize for the next 3000 years before we start giving moral lessons. And we are looking at this issue of migration and the situation of hundreds of thousands of women and men from developing countries who would like to offer their services abroad to help and secure a future for their families back home.

Well, Qatar is actually offering them that opportunity. Hundreds of thousands of workers from developing countries come here. They earn 10 times more than they earn in their home country and help their families to survive. And they do it legally.

We are in Europe, we are closing our borders and not allowing almost any worker from these countries, who is known to have a very low income, to work legally in our country, because we all know that there are many illegal workers in our European countries.
