The 2022 World Cup group stage continues with 16 teams vying for a place in the playoffs.

Here we look at what each country needs to do to get out of its group and keep the dream in Qatar.

If two or more teams are tied on points, they will be split in the following order:

1) Total goal difference in the group
2) Total number of goals scored in the group
3) Personal result (H2H)
4) H2X goal difference in all matches between teams remains the same
5) H2H goals scored in all matches between teams remain tied.
6) Fair Play Points
7) Draw

Friday (11:00 AM ET): Netherlands vs Ecuador
Tuesday (10:00 AM ET): Ecuador vs. Senegal, Netherlands vs. Qatar

Ecuador: If Qatar wins or draws with Senegal, then Ecuador could qualify for the round of 16 by beating the Netherlands.

Netherlands: If Senegal wins or draws against Qatar, then the Netherlands could qualify for the round of 16 by beating Ecuador.

Qatar: If Qatar loses to Senegal, they will be knocked out if the Netherlands win or draw.

Senegal: If Senegal loses to Qatar, they will be knocked out if Ecuador wins or draws.

GROUP B

Other fixtures
Friday (5am ET):
Wales vs. Iran
Friday (2:00 pm ET): England vs USA
Tuesday (2:00 pm ET): Iran vs USA, Wales vs England

England: Will advance to the round of 16 defeating the US, allowing them to qualify for the group if Wales-Iran draw earlier in the day.

Iran: Will be knocked out if they lose to Wales.

United States as well as Wales can’t qualify or fly out on Friday.

GROUP C

Other fixtures
Saturday (8am ET): Poland vs. Saudi Arabia
Saturday (11:00 AM ET): Argentina vs Mexico
Wednesday (2:00 pm ET): Poland vs Argentina, Saudi Arabia vs Mexico

Saudi Arabia: Will advance to the Round of 16 by defeating Poland, who will win the group if Argentina-Mexico draw later in the day.

Argentina: Will be knocked out if they lose to Mexico.

Mexico as well as Poland cannot qualify or fly out on Saturday.

GROUP D

Saturday (5am ET):
Tunisia v Australia
Saturday (2:00 pm ET): France vs Denmark
Wednesday (10:00 AM ET): Australia vs Denmark, Tunisia vs France

France: Will advance to the Round of 16 defeating Denmark, who will win the group if Tunisia-Australia draw earlier in the day.

Australia: Will be knocked out if they lose to Tunisia.

Denmark as well as Tunisia cannot qualify or fly out on Saturday.

GROUP D

Sunday (5am ET):
Japan vs. Costa Rica
Sunday (2:00 pm ET): Spain vs Germany
Thursday (2:00 pm ET): Costa Rica vs Germany, Japan vs Spain

Spain: If Japan wins or draws against Costa Rica, then Spain could qualify for the Round of 16 by beating Germany.

Japan: If Japan wins against Costa Rica, they will advance to the round of 16 if Spain wins or draws against Germany later on Sunday.

Germany: If Japan wins or draws, Germany will be relegated if they lose to Spain.

Costa Rica: If Costa Rica loses to Japan, they will be knocked out if Spain wins or draws.

Belgium vs. Morocco
Sunday (11:00 AM ET): Croatia vs Canada
Thursday (10:00 AM ET): Canada vs. Morocco, Croatia vs. Belgium

Belgium: Will advance to the Round of 16 by defeating Morocco, allowing them to qualify for the group if Croatia-Canada draw later in the day.

Canada: Will be knocked out if they lose to Croatia.

Croatia as well as Morocco can’t qualify or fly out on Friday.

Brazil: If Serbia wins or draws against Cameroon, then Brazil could qualify for the Round of 16 by beating Switzerland.

Switzerland: If Cameroon wins or draws against Serbia, then Switzerland could qualify for the round of 16 by beating Brazil.

Cameroon: If Cameroon loses to Serbia, they will be knocked out if Brazil wins or draws.

Serbia: If Serbia loses to Cameroon, they will be knocked out if Switzerland wins or draws.
