FIFA World No. 1 Brazil broke through pesky Serbia to win 2-0. In Lusail, to start the tournament, Richarlison scored two goals – one of them was a ridiculous move – and forced the Brazilians to leave on the right (and left) foot.


Switzerland, meanwhile, took advantage of Cameroon’s 1-0 defeat to score three points to secure Monday’s win.

Key storylines, players to keep an eye on

Brazil will not have Neymar this time around and likely for the remainder of the group stage as the frequently fouled magician felt the sting of Serbian tackles in the first leg. The Brazilians have had to play without their captain before and have plenty of attacking opportunities, but who will join Richarlison to score goals in attack without Ney.

The Swiss have every opportunity to play Brazil, but how physically they want to do it for the favorites? Granit Xhaka will be one of those who will watch as the underdogs try to balance the desire to get ahead with the danger of doing so against a strong Brazil.
