WWE Backlash 2023 date, location: WWE premium live event set for Puerto Rico with Bad Bunny as host

WWE makes a trip to Puerto Rico for WWE Backlash and the company contacts a celebrity friend. Backlash will air live from Puerto Rico on May 6th with Bad Bunny as host.

WWE announced Wednesday that Backlash will be broadcast live from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The event will be hosted by Bunny, a two-time Grammy winner.

“In 2005, when I was a kid, I couldn’t attend the New Year’s Revolution at the Coliseo,” Bunny said in an interview. Press release. “Finally, 18 years later, WWE is back on the island with a massive event and this time I won’t miss it.”

28-year-old Bunny impressed many with his performances in the ring. He teamed with Damian Priest to defeat The Miz and John Morrison at WrestleMania 37 and competed in the 2022 Royal Rumble men’s match. Bunny is also a former 24/7 champion who has linked up with many famous professional wrestlers. “Stone Chill” Steve Austin, Ric Flair and Booker T have appeared in music videos, with the latter appearing in Bunny’s song “Booker T”.

WWE last held a major show in Puerto Rico in 2005 with New Year’s Revolution. The company makes a notable effort to attract overseas fans with meaningful shows. Earlier this year, WWE held an Elimination Chamber in Montreal, Canada, with major shows scheduled later this year in London, England (Money in the Bank) and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (King and Queen of the Ring).
